City buildings
« on: September 27, 2015, 05:43:38 PM »
Hello everyone, I firstly want to tell I look forward to this game!

I am interested in how city development and buildings will work in this game. Will it be like Rome Total War, where you can build buildings that effect your city and so your empire. Can you also recruit units at cities, like civ and total war (except the later ones)?

Hi pfa0219

The way you construct buildings in cities is pretty standard, and similar to older TW games. In addition to buildings inside the cities, you can also construct some buildings outside, such as ports, mines, shrines etc. Of course, internal or external, you'll see your building right on the game map.

Units are also recruited at cities, but the system works a bit like Heroes of Might and Magic, in that you have a pool of available units, and when you need them you can recruit them all at once. This lets you raise armies quickly, and avoids the micro-management of drip feeding individual units to the front.

Alright thanks for answering! Good you responded, not all game devs respond to their fans.

That "pool style" recruitment looks interesting!

Good luck on the development!
