OK that went well, not!

First play though on normal Every one else had triple the cities, kills and armies and then my richest farming town exploded in my face because there was nothing to reduce peasant unhappiness in the area if that town.  Ouch ouch ouch. Needs a few harvest festival/ Holiday edicts to bring happiness up fast. They weren't all despotic scum. Some more low tier noblesse oblige needed.

Harvest festival reduce food by 2 raise peasant happiness by 10. (Available only in spring. )

New year Banquette. Raise happiness by 15 lower royal estate contribution to taxes by 20 (one off. )

Peace full kingdom. Raises happiness once by 20% only available if you have Harmony treaty's with all known nations.

Farm granaries. Reduces food by 4 raising authority by 1 and happiness by 5%.

Village liberty. Lowers population by two spawns a free settler reduces granary stock by one and royal estate by 5. Fixes over crowding if your broke.

Now you know what to expect, your second game should go better. Game has a bit of learning curve, and many players struggle in their first game.
